Here are this week’s RL picks. There may be an additional pick on the Toronto London game which kicks off at 5:30pm tomorrow but 365 are yet to price up the winning margin market.
St Helens v Wigan
Bet: St Helens 1-10
Odds: 3.4 Ladbrokes Coral 3.3 Betfair PP
Reasoning: Saints are the better team. This game has a long history of being decided by less than 12 points and a big tendency to do so. With HFA and Wigans problems in second row and wing I think Saints should have enough here and this is a much nicer price than the 1.5 on the Saints win
Huddersfield v Wakefield
Bet: Huddersfield 1-10
Odds: 3.6 Betfair PP 3.5 Ladbrokes 3.4 Coral
Rationale: Giants have more to play for with outside chance of top 4. These two have played 4 times this season with Huddersfield winning 3 by 12 or less. Wakefield have Fifita out who my model rates in the best 5 props in the league. Bigger pitch suits a Giants team who are much fitter than Wakefield.
Leeds v Hull KR
Bet: Hull KR 1-10
Odds 5.5 Ladbrokes 5 Betfair PP
Rationale: Leeds look really overrated here. I’m yet to be impressed by them under Sinfield and this KR side looked the best of any coming into the middle 8s. McGuire and Lunt have shown to be better than their Leeds counterparts at getting a team around the park while without Ryan Hall Leeds have less strike in their threequarter line.
Halifax v Salford
Bet: Salford -11.5
Odds: 1.91 Bet365 Betstars
Rationale: Salford are much better here and this price is being brought in by their poor away results but that was before they signed Jackson Hastings. Since he’s arrived they’ve covered this in all 3 games including away to KR and at home to Leeds. Halifax have lost both their middle 8s matches so far by more than this handicap and they don’t have an attack to threaten an SL team
