Hull look a club on the border of disaster. They have fallen out of the PL and look  closer to going into league 1 rather than a return to the PL. The supporters arent happy and resent the owner and given the game is on Sky I wouldnt be surprised to see them stage a protest. On the pitch the few players they did have that looked decent championship players have left leaving a squad that has a look and feel of a L1 club in waiting.

David Marshall will be in goal following the departure of Allan McGregor to Rangers. 3 of the back 4 will probably be making their debuts in Eric Lichaj, Jordy de Wijs and Reece Burke.

Todd Kane, on loan from Chelsea, who is technically a defender, has been playing at left midfield for Hull in pre-season and may start there. Up top Dicko could start and for all his endless running he isn’t very good. This isn’t a side that suggests its full of quality.

Hull will probably been without two of their better players in Kamil Grosicki and Jackson Irvine, who have only just started to train following the World Cup. .

Villa are few months looked in financial ruin, but new owners have come in, made some form of attempt to get Henry in as manager and then decided that Bruce was worth another go.

We just need to go through the options that Villa have to see the difference in the two teams. Chester, Hutton and Jedinak could start as a back 3, if not Taylor should come in to make a 4.  Ahead of them there is players like Horihane, Adomah, Whelan and Bjarnnason. Then there is Grealish, who is pretty much a PL player in waiting and then Kodija will head the attack. They should be better all over the pitch.

I don’t think that this will be a walk in the park for Villa as Adkins is a good manager and I don’t see his team getting beaten by many this season, but it could be a long hard season for them.

Whilst there is no guarantee that just having the better players will lead to success, I cant see villa losing this and we will make some profit if Villa avoid defeat. Its not the best odds, but at this stage of the season we need to be careful.
