Good morning. I’ve got on a couple more ante post bets for the season. I felt they were too good to pass up. Withe the season kicking off this evening in the Championship make sure you get the bets on today if you fancy them too.

Selection 1: Sheff Utd to finish above Birmingham
Odds 1.67
Bookie: Sky Bet
Stake 2 points

Selection 2:  Luton to be top promoted side
League 1
Bookie: Sky Bet
Odds: 1.91
Stake 1 unit

Selection 1: Sheff Utd were excellent last season and Wilder is doing a cracking job. They have brought reasonably well this summer and still have money to strengthen given that they have bid £5m for Waghorn at Ipswich. Egan will be a good solid signing and Henderson will come into goal.

Ex Ipswich player McGoldrick, if he stays fit, could be a real coup. With the £10m+ from the sale of Brooks there is still time and money to improve the squad. Last seasons experience in the championship will have done them good. Don’t be surprised to see Wilder change the team over in Jan to freshen things up.

Birmingham are in danger of the drop. Struggled last season and now must be regretting sacked Rowett when they were 7th. The club is in a mess and they now have a transfer embargo. The squad is poor front to back and was in desperate need of new players, which now won’t happen. Its pretty much the same squad that struggled last season.

Sheff Utd should be top 8. Birmingham bottom 6.

Selection 2: Thought long and hard about how to get Luton on side in an ante post bet and was going to take then as a top half finish at 1.62, but then found this and my mind was made up. This looks cracking.

They were the best side in L2 last season, yes I know they didn’t win the league, but Jones has been doing an excellent job for the Hatters. They simply ripped teams apart last season. The like to attack teams with full backs that push and they have goals all over the pitch hence why they banged 94 goals in last season, with 62 at home, the most any side in L2 has scored since 1983! They have recruited well this summer with CS pairing of Sonny Bradley and Matty Pearson. Its key that McMormack keeps fit as the side looks better with him in it. With Collins and Hylton up top they will do ok.

Coventry will be ok, but have sold top scorer McNulty, whist I firmly believe that Accrington and Wycombe will struggle. Luton look the best equipped of the promoted sides and I think there is an outside chance of them pushing for promotion again.
