James from the Betting Desk is definitely on a roll at the moment with both his Champions League tips winning yesterday. Can he score a hattrick with today’s selection?

Here is James’ tip for today:

Champions League – 8pm Wednesday
Young Boys vs Man Utd
Bet: Man Utd win
Odds & Bookie: 1.73 with Betfair
Stake: 1.5 unit

As I mentioned in my PL write up last week, too much as been made about Utd’s poor start. Since their poor performance against Brighton they have played OK. Spurs they did well in the 1st half and they played very well vs Burnley and Watford.

Jose will see the CL as a competition that he has more chance of winning than the PL. Get through the group, get a decent draw and suddenly he could find himself in the semi final. He will not get that lucky in the PL with City and Liverpool dropping that many points.

The Swiss league isnt the strongest and although Young Boys will be up for this Utd will have too much quality for them.

Young Boys have won just 5 of their 18 CL games with their last wins against Kiev and Zagreb, hardly two powerhouses of European Football. They have kept CS in just 3/18 games and domestically they have kept 1 CS in their last 7 games (cup and league). The home side have a few injury concerns and potentially may be without their best CB.

Utd look to have gained some confidence over the recent weeks and Pogba looks to be enjoying his football again. If he plays well then Utd tick. Lukaku is a flat track bully and always scores against weaker opposition and I wouldn’t be opposed to taking him at 2.25 at anytime scorer and 5.0 for him to be first goal scorer.

Jose has already said that Shaw will start at LB and I expect the team to be similar to that which lined up on Saturday. Rashford is able to play as his ban is only domestic football. Even if they rotate a little we will see players such as Mata, Fred, Bailly, Martial and McTominay coming in, all of whom are better than what Young Boys have to offer

Good Luck!
